It Starts with A Longing

The Germans have a word for that longing: Fernweh, or a pain and ache to see faraway places beyond our doorstep.

This feeling goes beyond a desire to travel. What if our lust for travel causes a deep longing, an ache that reminds us that we have to get out and see the world?

Sudden Journeys is a UK-based bespoke travel company curating tailored European & UK experiences. We offer small group and private tours as well as retreats and daily excursions, just for you. If you cannot find what you’re looking for, we can help you. Our in-house travel specialist can assist with anything from creating custom itineraries to in-depth trip planning. Together we will create the trip you have dreamed of.

KYLE CAMPBELL

Founder & Travel Specialist

Originally from Tennessee, Kyle has made a life as a wayfaring soul. While studying at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Kyle embarked on a summer solo backpacking trip throughout Europe which first ignited her passion for Europe and the power of travel. After graduating with a BFA in Photography and Art History, Kyle bought a one-way ticket for Florence, Italy, where she immersed herself in the Italian language and culture and the art of ‘dolce far niente’… the art of doing nothing.

After a 15-year career with several travel agencies as a destination specialist, tour director, and travel guide across Europe, Kyle launched Sudden Journeys in 2018.

When she’s not exploring new places, you can find her in her garden, cooking a feast for friends, or continuing her work as a professional photographer.

Kyle lives in an 18th-century farmhouse set in the idyllic English countryside with her husband, two teenagers, Simba the cat… and possibly a few Victorian ghosts.
